Norman met Irina in 1991. Norman was the manager of a baby furniture store and Irina was a sales associate at the second location. Irina would marry Norman in 1994. That same year, Irina encouraged Norman to pursue his passion of repairing electronics and they opened their business in the heart of Santa Monica, California. They received all different types of electronics and different types of customers from the basketball player Shaquille O'Neal to the creator of Everybody Loves Raymond Phil Rosenthal. In 1998, they had their daughter, Jasmine, and they closed their business in 2001. They began working from home and began only repairing Sony equipment. In 2006, they moved to North Carolina where the family still lives and works today.
